Another juvenile Peregrine. I haven't had good luck getting shots of them sitting.
This time I was able to get a few shots off before being noticed.
October 26, West Head.
These were all taken on different days at Mathew's Lake, the latest being the top picture which I took
on October 19th. There were still quite a few birds at the lake including several Red Knots, one Dowitcher
and a few Pectorals. I'd say the majority of birds were Dunlin and White-rumped Sandpipers as well as a few
dozen Black-bellied Plovers.
This may be a first for me - two bunting species in the same day. The Snow bunting (top) was the first
of the season for me, the Indigo bunting (bottom - juvenile male) was the first since last fall. He was showing
a bit of blue - mostly in the wings and tail. October 12, West Head and Hemeon's Head respectively.
