Saw a few of these guys on Saturday, they were still there the next day when Bill and I returned to the area. I think we both got some decent shots. East Green Harbour, N.S.
One of the better shots of a Palm Warbler from yesterday, others may have been more interesting but the image quality and background on this one set it apart.
This is the first White-breasted Nuthatch I've seen in my little patch of woods for a few years although I know they're quite regular at feeders in the town of Shelburne and elsewhere. (click to enlarge)
The birds arrived in full force this week. Swamp sparrows, Palm Warblers, Hermit Thrushes and Ruby-crowned Kinglets to name the most obvious in this area.
Hermit Thrush - first one for me this year seen at West Head, April 18. When I arrived home later in the morning there was one singing not far from the house.
Hard to pick one picture from this set but I'll go with this one. He's a little agitated since there is another Great Blue overhead at the moment this picture was taken. Hemeon's Head, N.S.
The Juncos arrived at the feeder this week, both male(top) and female (bottom). There were at least two males, one or more singing at times and only one female. (click to enlarge)
