I found this bird late on the previous day and was fortunate to be able to find it again and get close enough
for a decent photograph. Aug 22, Hemeon's Head, NS
This last shot was taken on Aug 22 in roughly the same location.
I was busy taking this shot among others when I was distracted by a sound in the trees nearby.
The sound was coming from a large white bird which turned out to be a Great Egret. This photo
session ended early for that reason. Aug 21, Mathew's Lake.
This was my first trip to Cape Sable Island in over a year. This bird had been in the area for awhile and it seemed like
there was a good possibility of finding it. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed which can often be the case in these
circumstances. Aug. 19, The Hawk CSI.
Black-throated Blue Warbler All of these shots were taken from my upstairs window, Aug 11-14, East Jordan. Some are likely juveniles except for the B-t Blue.
I was looking for Whimbrel but all I could find were three Spotted Sandpipers at the end of West Head.
They were interesting to watch as they fed amongst the seaweed and rocks in the company of a few
Least Sandpipers. There was one juvenile in the bunch which is not pictured here. Aug. 5.
This is the only adult male among several hummers attending the feeder in recent days.
There has been a lot of competition for the feeders and in the bottom image he has his
eyes open for incoming birds defending their turf. July 30, East Jordan.
