Cedar Waxwing

It seems like the Cedar Waxwings become a lot more noticeable each season once the apple blossoms come into bloom.  Obviously a favorite food of theirs.

Blackburnian Warbler

Saw a couple of Blackburnians on Brier Island but no photos. This guy arrived in my backyard today.

Brier Island Update

The Bobolink and Baltimore Oriole weren't being displayed properly in the first post so I added a second. Still working out the kinks.


Red-eyed Vireo

This is another bird from the Brier Island trip. There was also a Warbling Vireo on the island which was a lifer for me.

Brier Island

Here are a few highlights from our Brier Island trip this year - May 28-29. Four birders - Carmen, Mark, Gretchen and myself - a little more than 24 hours and 74 species.  

In order - Blackpoll Warbler, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Summer Tanager.

Chestnut-sided Warbler

First, actually second one of the year for me.  I saw and photographed another bird about an hour earlier. Both were in the Jordan Falls area.
