Eastern Wood Pewee

It  was hard to get this guy in good lighting today (too many harsh shadows) although he/she was fairly co-operative otherwise.

Short-billed Dowitcher

The Dowitchers are always more colourful when they first arrive here from their breeding grounds. This guy let me get relatively close today.

Green-winged Teal pair

This teal pair was sharing the pond at Hemeon's Head with a couple other teal, one with ducklings as well as a couple of hen Mallards and a drake Gadwall.

Yellow Warbler

I've had a few shots of these guys this year but this is the best close-up I've been able to get.

Bay-breasted Warbler

Although I've seen a number of Fall plumage birds in the area, this might be the first Spring male I've seen in my yard. Wasn't expecting to see this today.

Magnolia Warbler

This was taken back in May but worth posting here. I love the close-ups on these warblers - the colours are so vivid.

White-throated Sparrow

This White-throat was loving the tops of the plants in the foreground. He stripped the tops of several while I watched and it seems he had been at it before I saw him this time.
