Spotted Sandpipers - June 8

There are two individual birds in these photos, a nesting pair. I'm not able to tell the difference between the sexes, but I believe the bird in the second photo had just left the nest where eggs were being incubated at the time. One might think that would indicate the female but in this species it's possible it could be either sex, or so I've read. The male may even do the majority of the incubating. The chicks hatched out about two weeks later, I just saw them again today at about 4 weeks old. They are fully fledged at this point but lack the spots of the adults. I will have more pictures to post of both the adults and young ones at a later date.
